Naina smiled sadly at him, but glad that one of them spoke reason. She released her arms around him and stepped back. "I know that what you are saying is just. This should never have happened...That's why I decided not to see you anymore after this. But if I had not told you what I felt it would have suffocated me.", she told him in a stern voice and then let out a sigh. There was a short silence between them where nobody spoke. It was the strangest situation Naina had ever found herself in. Reason and Emotion were battling inside of her, making her confused. She had always followed her heart and this time she knew that it could lead her straight into her doom. "We should say goodbye at this point...", she started. "Its for the best." Her voice however sounded inconvincing even to her own ears. How could it be for the best for them? But it was the best for Egypt. She should leave right there without turning back, but she stood there, waiting for him to make the first move. She did not dare to do so.
Touzoko-ou played along, his hands running all over Karai's body as he continued his private chat with her. "You won't have to go through with the marriage till the end. It will all stop once the crown is taken out, but before it is placed on your head to seal the ritual. And imagine all the chaos we could cause. Half of Egypt will be present that day to witness our victory over the Pharaoh.", he told her excitedly. When he heard what she had found out he stayed silent for a moment, thinking. "A girl, huh? What a weakness! I didnt expect anything else from him! The fool is making things too easy for us! But we need more information about that! If we could get that girl to be our toy for some time....", he started, looking at Karai. "This will be your job, while I will try to find out more about the wedding plans." Once he had finished his words he kissed her forcefully. "But Im not paying for these services.", he whispered as he continued exploring her body with his hands.

Atemu nodded his head firmly, not saying a word. He knew it was for the best, yet no words seemed to escape his constricting throat. Say something. He urged himself- watching her walk away would break him. ''I've tried to tell myself I was just being stupid and irrational about this- I mean, I've only known you for a few days but-''The pharoah accepted fate- it would be the best thing for her if she left and never came back. She could start a family, marry a nice man and have a normal life. But he had to say something, just to clear his concience and leave no regrets. ''Nania, I dont want to stop you- but if you walk away now, I just want you to know.. I'll miss you.'' He said in a heavy voice.Karai was taken off-gaurd by the tomb robbers kiss but she responded quickly, kissing him back untill he pulled away. ''As if you'd pay for ANYTHING.'' Karai shot back pointedly, raising both eyebrows as she shoved him a little. Although she had to admit it- for Touzoku-ou; that was an hilarious joke. ''All right- so whats the plan; how excactly do you plan to sneak me into that Harem?'' Karai questioned in a resigned voice after she had told him all the other information tidbits she had heard.

The king of thief smirked. "Its gonna be a childs play. We will capture the convoy with the Pharaoh's bride to be and simply take their places. With enough men it should be possible. The Pharaoh is not likely to have met the Princess before, so he wont suspect anything as long as you play your role." His eyes met hers directly. "Will you be able to pull that off? Or is that too much for someone like you? I dont doubt your skills when it comes to chaos and seduction, but what about behaving like a lady?" He knew that she could be convinced into the role through provocation just to prove him wrong. And having someone like Karai inside the palace would be one big advantage for them. "And if we get Pharaoh's little prostitute on our side as well we will have him where we want him."
Naina took a deep breath. He was not making it any easier for her with his words. "I will miss you too....", she eventually managed to say and finally dared to turn around take a step away from him, but the moment she did so she felt a strange pain in her heart. It felt as if her soul would break if she took another step, so she almost froze in her movements, before suddenly spinning around and wrapping her arms around Atemu forcefully. "I cant do it....What have you done to me?!", she almost cried. She could not comprehend it. They had met but two days ago. How could passion between two individuals be so strong?

''Dont worry- I cant act like a lady when needed.'' Karai reassured the theif, patting him on the shoulder airly as she made to walk past him. ''I have a job to get back to- I'll see you in another two hours.''She arrivbed back at the Golden River bar to start her so-called job again, but her heart was not really in it this time as she thought of what Touzoku-ou had suggested. Me- marrying the pharaoh? Hmm...Atemu closed his eyes tightly and shook his head voilently, the gold earrings her wore swaying suddenly at his unpredicted movement. ''I dont know!'' He excalimed in frustration. ''You should go- leave now and go start a life for yourself, I know... but I dont want you to leave!''

Watching her leave Touzoko-ou decided to return to his post as well. Examining the palace a little further would be useful and maybe the next guard would be able to give him a little more information. "Perhaps if I took the guarding post close to one of the priests...", he thought to himself on his way back. "This Mahaad seems to be closest to the king..." And so Touzoko-ou started arranging things so that he would guard the room in which Mahaad was currently present. Unfortunately he could hear nothing of what was being said inside, which angered him for as far as he knew Mahaad was talking to Isis. Only when they came out he managed to hear a fragment of their discussion. "I shall write to them as soon as possible.", Isis "I start having doubts that what we are doing is right, Isis...The Pharaoh will be angry.", the owner of the Millenium Item admitted. "It has to be done Mahaad. Egypt needs a Queen and our Pharaoh is not likely to choose one on his own accord.", the priestess objected. "And he has been acting strangely lately. My necklace however fails to show me his future." The rest of their talk escaped Touzoko-ou as the two priests walked away.
Naina's breath was coming fast. She felt so torn. "Tell me to go, my King. Order me to go and I will.", she finally told him. "If we continue like this we will end up doing things we might regret..." But as she spoke her face was already approaching his until she had to forcefully stop her body to obey her. She would never regret this. No matter how much she would suffer later on, she felt that these moments of bliss she was sharing with him were worth it. And then, completely contradicting what she had said just seconds ago she whispered: "Love me, my King. Even if it is just for a day. Even if its only for a few hours...Please, for this fragment of time pretend that you love me." Her voice couldnt be more than a whisper and she did not know why.

Atemu shook his head wordlessly, reaching out and brushing a stray strand of silky hair out of Nania's face, caressing her beautiful skin with his fingertips as he walked closer slowly, and slowly he put his arms around Nania, pulling her close into an embrace.''I dont need to pretend.'' He whispered into her ear, leaning his head upon hers as he hugged her tightly, giving in to his emotions at last.''I wont tell you to leave.'' ''You had better get back to your job.'' He said eventually, releasing her and stepping away. ''Meet me at midnight tonight here- be safe.''Karai danced around the tables, not really noticin the passes that random men made at her as she passed gracfully, lost in her own world. The very thought of being so near the pharoah made her skin crawl but she would get to kill him... to destroy him for what he had neglected to do for a young girl arriving in the country...Some pharoah- if he lived up to his words and actually made an equal and just society I would not sport the scars of the knives of gangs and thugs. She thought bitterly with grim satisfaction, knowing his end was near. That rich brat doesnt know the meaning of the things he says.

Naina smiled happily and nodded. "I will be here, my King.", she assured him. Now she felt more like dancing than ever and the rough environment of her working place would not even bother her that much. "I will see you later then, your Highness!", she called as she started running towards the 'Golden River', her body feeling as light as a feather. She was sure she would be able to fly if she tried.
Once she reached the tavern to start her work she was surprised to see another dancer there. Without hesitating she started dancing as well, completely ignoring the men around her. She just felt the music and danced and danced giving form to the happiness inside her. When the dancers had a short break Naina approached the other dancer to introduce herself. "Hello. I am Naina. Are you new here too?", she asked politely, but suddenly she felt strange around this other woman. It was as if the other dancer had something dangerous about her, which made Naina nervous, but she tried not to think about it. The men around them were already moving in on them, trying to get them to do a little more than dance, until the owner had to push them away to give the two women some freedom.

One look at Nania and Karai was all charm. ''Oh hello!'' She smiled shyly, laughing a little nervously. ''Yes, I just started here today... its a little unnerving, isnt it?'' She looked around over her veil with a little uncertainty in her eyes before turning back to Nania. ''Oh, I'm so rude, I did'nt introduce myself... I'm Nefertari.'' Under her polite facade however, Karai nearly got sick. Its that girl from the other night that the pharaoh protected- how the hell did she get here? She snarled with supprise inwardly whilst maintaining a happy front. I know her now... she was with me on the trip to egypt from Turkey! She was the annoying little one!! Karai had to force herself to relax. Nevermind- she cannot hurt nor harm me.Thank the gods the veil hides my face.If she asks about my accent I'll say I was trader with some slaves.''Nice to know there's another newbie on the job, its kind of intimidating at first... you know?''Atemu watched Nania go before turning and going back to his duties inside the palace, feeling releief for the first time in days. It felt like a weight had lifted of the kings shoulders by admitting his feelings. Its irrational and illegal but I dont care... He realised, happily attacking his duties with a new, passionate energy. I guess some things do not have to make sense.

Naina smiled at the other girl. "It really is. Especially when these men are drunk. Its really annoying to trying to keep them away from you.", she agreed. It was truly pleasant to have someone to talk to normaly. Someone who was not trying to seduce you, but Naina was staying alert. There was something familiar about that woman. The voice, the accent, the look of her eyes. "You are not from Egypt, are you?", she then asked, noticing the accent. Surprisingly it was similar to her own. "Dance! Dance! Dance!", the masses of men around them started demanding and so Naina had no other choice but to return to her dancing.
Touzoko-ou had thought that the rest of the night would be just guarding random rooms, but he had underestimated his luck. He was placed to guard the study room of the Pharaoh along with four other guards. It was perfect. This way he could keep a close eye on the Monarch and trace his every step. At one point he was almost close enough to knock all the other guards down and attempt to attack the King, but he held back. The plan he had in mind was so much more exciting.

''No, actually- I'm from just across the border.'' Karai smiled sweetly, through the veil and sighed as the men started to chant. ''Men, huh? All the same...'' She grinned wearily, rolling her brown eyes as the two women got back to dancing with hoots and cheers from the men. There's no point denying that I'm a forgeinger but with any luck she wont ask which border. Karai thought grimly, but she wasn't that bothered. There was no connection between this girl and what Karai was sent to do. Oh, what she would'nt have given to kill every man in the room. Atemu worked away grimly, ignoring the gaurds behind him and their activities untill sunset whereupon the preists called him away to a conference about something he wasnt really interested in.Everything paled in comparison to what he was wating for.. midnight. All he wanted to do was touch her again, kiss her lips, look into her eyes... it was destracting him from everything.

Naina danced the night away, all perception of time dying away. She was swirrling, floating, flying in a little world of her own. The vulgar shouts of the men around her faded away. She imagined herself dancing for only one man. Even her suspicion about Karai seemed to disappear in the back of her mind.
At a table next to the two dancers a guard and a merchant sat down to order some beer. "I think I saw them, but I cannot be sure.", the merchant said. "And? Where were they going?", the guard wanted to know. "I dont know. They just ran past me. But it was that girl I tell you.", he said with a quick glance at the dancers. The guard of course could not make out which of the dancers he meant, but that didnt really matter.
Touzoko-ou was following the Pharaoh around as much as he could and even if he was not the one guarding the room he made sure he knew exactly where the King was and who he was seeing. What the king of thieves founf very interesting was the fact that the Pharaoh seemed rather distracted from his work, as if he was waiting for something to happen. But the information he valued even more was the date when the princess would be coming over and how she looked like. "We will have to undergo a little changing in Karai..." ,he thought to himself, thinking about which places to rob to get the necessary material for the start, while he started his way to the tavern once more to have the meeting.
At one point Naina suddenly stopped in the middle of her movement and rushed over to the owner of the tavern to excuse herself for the night, saying that she had something important to do. She quickly said goodby to Karai and left. Sneaking out of the tavern and making sure no men were following her, she ran through the city towards the meeting place, her heart beating faster with every steps and a blush appearing on her cheeks.

Karai snuck around for a while longer after Nania left, trying to eavesdrop on the merchant and the gaurd's conversation by dancing aeound them and even going over to pour the men drinks but everytime she came close the conversatin would stop, continuing only after she was retreated to a distance where the music was louder to her than their words.''I think I saw them together, but I cannot be sure..... and where were they going?....'' The conversation was cut off and Karai left it at that with an irritated sigh. They could have talking about his daughter and her lover or something- at any rate, she was not going to waste any more of her time of theese overprotecive fathers.''Hey handsome.'' She purred, slipping up to one last soldier in attempt to get any info out of him... 15 minutes later she was standing at their meeting point for the last time before the day ended as she waited for Touzoku-ou; absaloutly exhausted. ''That gaurds outfit makes you look hot.'' Was her first comment as he arrived, her tone indicating she could have been talking about the weather. She did'nt even look at him. ''Well I got no worthy information- except that the little forgeiner girl that our deal pharaoh protected in the town we attacked a few nights ago now is in the Thebes.''Atemu realised that time was dragging on as the presits continued to talk in low, urgent tones to him. Atemu never noticed it before, but now it made him feel like the low voices they used were the kind practised when you were talking to a dying man.''Let's continue this in the morning.'' He interrupted the priest Kalim- holder of the millenium scale- as he went to talk. The preists nodded silently and stepped back, letting the pharoah pass as heretired for the night. As soon as he was out of earshot, Atemu changed courses and instead of heading for his bed-chambers, headed out to his meeting spot with Nania, his heart pounding in his chest, making it hard to breathe. He arrived there just beyond the palace grounds, the rouch grass tickling his feet as midnight approached.

Touzoko-ou grinned at her first comment. "I always look good. What do you expect?", he asked back, before they went back to business. He was not too surprised that Karai hadnt gotten any more information, although the fact that this certain girl was back might come in useful later. "I have some interesting news though. Our target should be here within the month. Smooth black hair, dark eyes, dark skin, jewels everywhere...", he walked around Karai as he spoke, touching first her hair, then her face and then letting his hands run up and down her arms. "We will have to make sure you fit this description. And her manners.", he then said. "But first, lets retreat for today. This was the worst day I had in a long time."
Naina could see him already from far away, or at least she could make out his silhoutte in the darkness. She just knew it was him and happiness filled her. He was turned with his back to her and so she jumped on him from behind laughing happily. "You came!", she exclaimed full of joy. Although she had trusted him there had been this tiny fear inside her that he might have forgotten.

Karai nodded, already exhausted from hours of dancing. ''What are we going to do? Its too far to go back to Kul-elna.'' She asked wearily, glaring down at the stupid golden sandals she was wearing that cut off the circulation in her heels and numbed her legs.Casually, she reached down and tugged off her shoes, throwing them into an alleyway where beggers converged on the shoes, fighting over posession as Karai walked back, barefoot. She sighed in relief and stretched her feet, feeling the rough sands between her toes and grinning. She hated shoes.''You've got a huge job on your hands if your gonna turn me into a lady.'' She grinned at Touzoku-ou.Atemu nearly fell flat on his face as Nania jumped at his back. He whipped around, expecting trouble but when he heard her beautiful laugh he relaxed, catching her as she pounced and spinning around with her, laughing from sheer exhileration.''Of course I came.'' He smiled as he slowed down, catching her in his arms and smiling down at her. ''Did you doubt the word of your pharoah?''He teased.

Naina laughed even more at that as she looked at him. "Of course not your majesty. But I'd rather not see you as the Supreme Ruler of Egypt tonight, but as the man who has stolen my heart.", she told him, sheer passion in her voice. Just then she noticed that she did not even know his name. All this time she had just been calling him by his titles. She felt that it was wrong, for she was not in love with his status. Gently she kissed his cheek before stepping away from him and looking up to the stars. "This night is perfect."
The thief led the way to the outskirts of the city, where he intended to 'borrow' a house for some time, which essentialy would mean that he would empty it of its habitants. Crime was not too uncommon in these darker parts of town, so nobody would pay great attention to it. Once they had the accomodation problem solved he laid down on one of the beds and looked at Karai. "This plan will have to work, Karai. And if you will be the cause of its failure you might get to know another side of me. One you wont like.", he told her with a cruel grin. "So you will better work hard on your royal manners." He relaxed a bit in his position and looked at the ceiling. "How would you entertain someone for example?", he asked her as a way of testing her.
