Karai shrugged and sat down of the opposite bed, hurridly taking off all of the heavy jewellery and annoying braclets that restricted her movement. Jewellery was great- but too much weighed her down. And for a theif that was vital. ''To be honest, your threats dont scare me but I get the point.'' She replied in a serious voice, sitting up and looking at him.''With polite conversation.. or instrament playing?' Dancing?'' Karai threw her hands up in the air. ''Who am I to know what the phparoah of egypt likes to be entertained by? Or I could always go on about how much of a great pharoah he is... men seem to fall for that EVERY time.''Atemu frowned, only then realising the same by what she had called him. ''You have always called me 'your majesty' or 'pharoah'- you dont even know my name, do you.'' It wasn't a question- more of a statement.''I had forgotten that- after all, it would be improper for me to steal your heart without even giving you my name....'' He leaned forward and kissed her gently on the forehead. ''I am Atemu.''

The thief was evidently amused by Karai's answer. Honestly he had no idea himself how royalty behaved. "I guess you could always try that.", he agreed. "And what about the way you act? Aggressive? Shy? Clumsy?" He wanted her to give an image on how she would behave. Not only to see that she was not going to ruin the while plan, but also to entertain him a bit. After such a boring day he was desperate for something or someone to distract his thoughts and this seemed like a fun little game to him.
"Atemu.", Naina repeated, saviouring the sound of the name, as she still looked to the sky. She would never forget that name. A warm smile spread on her features as she casted her eyes back upon him, before she streched herself out in the grass, admiring the stars again. "That's what I love about being free. You can just escape outside in the middle of the night to watch the sky."

''I would act confident- I of course grew up in a palace with servants to attend to my every whim. I am used to getting what I want and can be quite spoiled and sickeningly sweet when I need to be. I'm a bit shy because I'm meeting my new husband for the first time but of course I am a diplomat so I am nice and polite....''Karai speeled off the top of her head and she got a little too in character, getting up off her bed and strutting around in what was supposed to be an over-exaggerated version of a ladies walk as she enacted a posh accent while she talked. ''You need'nt worry about me- I know how to act like a lady when I need to.'' Karai grinned snidely, flopping back down on her bed. ''Sort of...'' She finished,shrugging.''Yes... there is a certain sweetness to it.'' Atemu agreed with her, making sure they were out of sight before lying down on the rough grass and resting his head on his arms, staring at the beautiful night sky where the full moon shone brightly, bathing the pair in its radience.''Its strange.'' Atemu said eventually, sitting up and looking at Nania in puzzlement. ''I should'nt feel so relaxed around someone I met a few days ago... but I do...''

Touzoko-ou nodded, since he indeed could imagine Karai being able to pull of something like it. "With you I can never be sure who are what you really are.", he told her. "You are the person I would first suspect to try to kill me." They might be lovers, but the thief knew that amongst his kind there was rarely real trust. He could rely on Karai to do various jobs for him and to entertain him, but he wondered whether she would hesitate to kill him if she had to. "Why did you turn out the way you are now?", he eventually asked out of boredeom, just then noticing that he knew very little of her background, which might have been the cause of his slight mistrust.
Naina returned the look and smiled, before looking back up to the sky. "I have kept mostly to myself when I came here. It was my way to survive. I am as confused as you are about this bond we seem to share.", she told him honestly and moved a little closer to him. She pushed his puzzle aside and lay her head down on his chest, her eyes kept on the sky. It was comfortable just to remain like that.

Karai stared across at Touzoku-ou is a kind of bitter yet demure fashion. ''Wrong.'' She leaned back and looked at the roof in a similair pose to that which Atemu was in several miles away; with her hands under her head and one leg bent over the other. He was the only person she would never kill. She felt slightly insulted that he would think that, but after all, she knew it was justified. No theif survived by trusting anybody. He has a point. ''How did I end up like this?'' She turned her head and looked at Touzoku-ou. ''Did'nt think you were interested in life stores.'' She commented before starting on a rough transalation of her life.''My parents tried to sell me as a sex worker for money which is why I ran away to here.'' There was a slighlt pause in which Karai realised he was the only person she had ever told this- and maybe it was not the wisest move but she continued. ''You know how the people of this city are- they love their pharaoh and when I arrived I was convinced by the talk that this king was great. One week on the streets and I'd been molested, discriminated against and was homeless. No-one wanted a foriegn woman around... so I guess I got tough. '' She spoke like it was a conversation, and not the story of her life. ''One night a group of men surrounded me and the only way I escaped was pulling a knife on them, and I killed for te first time.... then I kinda.... got good at it.'' As she re-accounted the tale, her fingers ran lightly down the lightened peice of skin running from her neck down to the front of her right shoulder- a reminder. ''I'd say you could guess that that is why I hate the pharoah... I expected a mighty man ruling over a peacful land, and instead I got this dump ruled by a spoilt little boy who lets women be treated like shit.'' She looked over at the theif king and thingyed her head to the side slightly. ''Does that answer your question?'' In a voice that clearly said your turnAtemu pulled one arm out from under his head and used in to wrap around Nania's back, pulling hercloser to him as he closed his eyes again, just listening to her hearteat against his skin.''Tell me about you.'' He requested gently, opening his eyes and staring up into the night sky with a kind expression. ''I want to know all about you, if that doesnt sound too strange.''

Naina let out a soft sigh. Where should she start? "I grew up in a town in Turkey with my family. I spent most of my time locked into the house. I did not know what freedom was. My sole purpose seemed to be to serve my father and then later on probably my husband. I did not want that..." She stopped there and for a few moments just enjoyed the peaceful moment, so contradictory to her story. "My father was eager to marry my sisters and me off as soon as possible to have less expenses. I think it was his greedyness that made me value emotions more than riches...Anyways, one day he told me about my engagement. I cried and I pleaded for him to change his mind...But he didnt and so I ran away and came here....And you know the rest." There was nothing more to her, but it was enough. She was glad that she did not have more adventures to talk about. She cuddled up closer to him, drawing random symbols on his arm with her finger. "What about you? Tell me how a Pharaoh spends his days.", she urged him on.
The thief king had listened silently to Karai's story. He had in fact expected something like this. A proof of her hatred for the pharaoh. "Your parents could have gotten a nice sum out of you.", he observed. He knew that what he said was cruel, but he had always been deadly honest. He wondered whether he should tell her about himself and finally agreed to do so...partially. "I was born amongst thieves and tomb robbers and so I became one of them. I was born the way I am now. But my reason to want to kill the Pharaoh is revenge. Revenge for the town he destroyed and the people he killed. For destroying my place I shall cause chaos in all of Egypt.", he said, his anger more than apparent as he clenched his hands into fists, boiling with anger at the memories of his burning town and the screams of the people. "We will get him! He will die at our hands!", he announced, talking obviously about the Pharaoh.

Karai wasted no time in snatching an earthen pot from the ground near her bed and hurling it at her lover as he made a snarky comment about the price her parents would get for her. It hit the wall inches from his head and shattered but as the theif began to talk about his origons her anger waned as she listened to him.''Yes.. he will.'' She agreed with him emotionless, nodding a bit as she could almost sense the anger coursing through his veins. Karai had to admit, she held a twinge of sympathy for the man and what he had been through but she brushed it aside, lying back and looking up at the ceiling. ''Whatever about you thinking I'd be the first to kill you,I have to say I'd say the same about you.''Atemu just held Nania tighter as she re-counted her story, his insides boiling at the injustice of her father, and also... jealousy as the thought that if she had been a demure little girl and agree to her fathers wishes.. she would never have met the pharoah.''Me?'' He asked, a litte supprised at the question rebounded on himself. ''There's not much fun in it, really.'' He chuckled a little mirthlessly. ''Traditions and festivals and ettiquetes.... no-one in the palace wants to see me.. thay want to see their pharaoh; not the teenage boy who's trying to grow up.''He did'nt know if that was supposed to be a joke or not, but it came out much more seriously than he meant it. ''At any rate; compared to most peoples lives, my life is... luxurious. I'll show you, sometime, inside the palace.''

The thief chuckled at her last remark, throwing off some shards of the broken pot that lay on his bed. "It wouldnt be far from the truth. I would not hesitate to kill you if it was something I had to do to reach my goals.", he said, being not really sure whether he was speaking honestly there. It was true that he had no inhibitions to kill any of his other followers to get what he wanted, but Karai was a different issue. And not because she was his lover. "We should get some rest if we want to survive another day like this.", he said, actually having no intentions to sleep at all. He was bored and wanted to be entertained in any way possible. "What will you do once we kill the Pharaoh?", he eventually asked her. He was curious about her answer.
Naina listened to his words, feeling sorry for Atemu. He was as much a prisoner as she had been. She wanted to tell him that she didnt care about his title, but when he told her that he would take her inside the palace one day she was lost for words. She raised her head to look at him to see whether he was serious. "But...but...", she started, finding no words at all. So she just quickly kissed him on his cheeck and reassumed her old position with her head on his chest. "Lets play a game.", she suddenly suggested. "I used to play it with my sisters when we were sitting in our room. It's called the 'What if' game and its very easy. One of us asks a 'What if' question and the other person has to answer, ok?", she explained and then immediately she asked: "What if you werent Pharaoh? What would you do?"

Karai shrugged, not really caring about what he had asked. She had always known that he would have killed her in necessary but still it irked her a little- loyalty amoung theives was almost nonexistant but at his actions were justified. ''As long as you dont get bored and one day decide I'd make a good corpse its of no matter to me.''
She lay back down and yawned, tiredness creeping into the recesses of her mind. ''After this? It'll be over. The challenge will be gone and the king dead. I will have achieved what I wanted but then.... it'll be boring. There'll be no fun in being a thief then.''
It was true, she knew but she had never thought of what came after. ''Death, I suppose. Or maybe I'll settle down and get a job.....'' She did'nt know if she was joking or not. It was always a possibility. ''What about you??''
Atemu nearly laughed. ''I've never thought about that so intensly before...'' He admitted as he thought. ''I've always thought I would settle down and probably work on a cattle market and have a wife and children like everyone else... I'd be.. ordinary, I suppose.''''But what about you- what if you were able to summon your ka?" He probed, eager to see what she thought her ka might be.

Now it was Naina's turn to think about it. She had obviously seen people being able to do so, but she had never imagined these powers to herself. "I am not really sure. I guess I would use my Ka to protect the people I love...no matter what my Ka might look like. But if I had to choose a Ka I would like it to be not too scary...Maybe something with wings..." She stopped there and laughed, shaking her head a bit. It would never come true anyways. "Ok, my turn again....What if I was actually a princess from another country who escaped from her suitor?", she asked in a playful tone.
Touzoko-ou wanted to laugh at the idea of Karai settling down somewhere and live an honest life. After what he knew of her this other scenario seemed utterly impossible. "I was born a thief and I will die a thief. Once the Pharaoh is gone there will be other people like him.", he said calmly, but with a certain determination in his voice. "And I doubt that a woman like you will be able to lead a peaceful life.", he eventually voiced his opinion, unerlining the 'like you'. "After leading such a life you cannot return to boring ways.", he added with a smirk. "And I doubt you want that."

Karai nodded- he was right but still she found herself arguing. ''The king is the top of the pole- we get him, we crush the system. Sure, there'll be gaurds and preists but seriously.. that wont take very long to crush without the pharoah now will it.''''And whats the point in being a theif is the COUNTRY has been oveerun by them? Where's the anarchy in that? I dont look past the pharoahs death.'' She rolled over to her side and closed her eyes, wanting sleep.''Then I'd marry you.'' Atemu joked, rolling over unto his knee's and looking down at her, grinning slightly. His grin faded a bit as he realised that maybe it was too early for jokes like that... and that maybe he would, which was worrying.''What if.... what if Turkey declared war on egypt?''

The king of thieves chuckled slightly. This woman had a point. Once the Pharaoh was dead there would be nothing but chaos in the country and the thieves would eventually take over. "But what about the Pharaoh's cousin? He would be the next in line. We would have to dispose of him as well.", he pointed out randomly. He shifted in his bed to find a more comfortable position. "But you are right. We should set out forcus on the near future. Killing the Pharaoh comes first...." In the darkness of the room he looked over to her, being able to see nothing more but the vague silhoutte of her body on the other bed. He wondered whether he should let her sleep, but he was bored and would not let her. "Tell me something. I want some entertainment.", he said, his voice being almost commanding.
Naina smiled at his answer, but there was a certain sadness to that smile. It would be a wonderful thought, but one that never could become reality. "I would stand on Egypt's side.", she answered his question. She did not have to think about the answer. Turkey might have been her fatherland, but it was a country which had caused her great pain, whereas Egypt offered her shelter in some sense. "What if....what if....what if I kissed you now and then disappeared forever?"

Karai rolled over irritably and turned to face him. It had been a long day of dancing and she was exhausted, so his childish demands were getting her fit to punch him through a very solid object. ''What do you want me to tell- a joke?'' She demanded, her voice dripping with sarcasm as she glared into the darkness.''Or what else- should I sing to keep you entertained?'' Honestly, it was like talking to a four-year old sometimes. ''I know what I'm going to tell you, and its not going to be very nice if you dont LET ME SLEEP.''Atemu stopped and looked at Nania for a second before replying thoughtfully. ''I'd search for you everywhere.'' He replied, knownig his words could not actually express how sad he would be with her last kiss lingering upon his lips.''What if.... I did the same?'' He queried, turning the question around on her.

"I would probably die because of a broken heart on an endless quest to find you.", she said a bit overdramatically, but her eyes showed that she really meant it. Giving him a quick kiss on the lips she returned to look at the stars. She never wanted this night to end. "They will be very worried at the palace when they notice you are missing.", she observed in a sad, yet serious voice. She did not want him to go, but she did not want to get him into trouble either.
Touzoko-ou frowned a little. She really was tired, which meant that she could be highly unpleasant. "I highly doubt you could sing anyways.", he retorted as he turned around, facing the wall. He knew his behaviour was annoying her, but he didnt really care. Fatigue was finally getting to him as well and he decided that going to sleep might not be too bad after all.

''You're right- I couldnt sing to save my life.'' Karai mumbled, rolling over while pulling the thin rush-made blankets up over her shoulders and falling into a deep yet restless sleep including dreams about cold prison bars and a feeling of entrapment.Atemu sighed, she was right, If he did'nt go back in soon a palace-wide search would ensue which would leave him to explain where he had been... ''You're right.'' He admitted, standing slowly as if he really did'nt want to- which he didnt.''I thought when I was pharoah I would have a little more freedom but no....'' He smiled a little regretfully. ''I'll... see you again?"
