Naina smiled sadly when he said that he would have to leave. So soon?...But he is the ruler of the country. He probably has better things to do..., she thought regretfully, looking down for a moment. "Me? I will probably continue the dancing...It's the only thing I can do here after all...", she replied, feeling a bit embarrassed about her occupation. It was almost on the same level as being a prostitute after all, since she was selling her body and arts to some random people. Naina did not even dare to look at him, but something was drawing her eyes magically to meet his. The longer she looked into his purple eyes the more she felt she was losing control over her mind, and unknown feeling taking over. "Will I see you again, your majesty?", she asked, but then had to laugh at herself. How ridiculous am I?! "Pardon me, my King. I was being foolish.", she quickly said, hoping not to embarrass herself any further.
Touzoko-ou had been loafing around all day, eagerly awaiting Karai's return and the answer she would bring. The extra men were necessary for his plan to work. Destroy the Pharaoh once and for all...., he thought when his musings were suddenly disrupted by the sound of approaching hooves. This could only be Karai, but he did not bother getting up from his position against the rock. She would probably come to him on her own. "What are the news?", he asked casually once he knew that she was close enough to hear him. "I hope for you that they are pleasant. I am in no mood to hear anything negative." His eyes were still fixed at the sky above him as if he saw something interesting there noone else could see.

Karai jerked the reins sharply, bringing her horse to an abrupt standstill in front of Touzoku-ou, spraying sand up in fountain-esque bursts as the hooves slid to a halt and she dismounted smoothly, walking the few feet to where he sat and shaking the sand out of her clothes and face.''Well lucky for me the news is good; About 300 new men are now with us.'' She neglected to tell him about the other few that refused and were now rotting corpses. ''One of the groups demanded their own freedom once inside the city gates but the rest were all.... more than happy to follow.'' She chose her words tactfully as she looked at her lover who seemed to look more attractive every time she saw him.Without crouching she leaned over in front of Touzoku-ou and kissed him a little forcefully on the lips before he could comment or reply before breaking away and leading the horse into the shade of the rock, pouring her remaining water from the wineskin unto her hand and letting the animal drink. ''Any news from here?''''No, I dont suppose you will.'' The reply came with a sigh. The last thing Atemu wanted to do was to go back inside that palace now or do anything else. He suddenly felt embarassed when she mentioned her occuptaion and the arkward look on her face made his insides boil with rage.Nobody deserves that life! I wish I could help her.... He thought a little angrily, gazing back towards the huge palace gates that loomed overhead, casting a shadow on the two.It was like a spark lit off in his brain as reality hit him like a slap in the face. But I CAN help her! His usually composed face broke out into a grin as, without even wondering why or thinking about it- he reached forward and grabbed her shoulders. ''Nania, I think I can help you!" He exclaimed eagerly, raw passion in his voice as he gazed into her deep pools of eyes and once again feeling like he was drowning in them, her beautiful scent made him dizzy.''You dont have to live like this! Pick a job, any job! I can made that come true!'' The logic part of his mind was screaming at his but for once the young pharoah blotted it out. I can HELP her.. I can change her life.. She filled his head, making him irrational, impulsive... alive..

Naina stared at the pharaoh completely taken aback by his proposal, but then a sweet smile spread across her lips.
"I am grateful, your majesty, but I have to decline. No matter how dishonorable or poor my occupation may be...I love dancing. I come alive when I do so. Getting my money from this is enough for me.", she explained, hoping that she did not sound too stupid.
For a moment she just looked at him, taking his picture in so she could remember him. They were not supposed to meet again after what he had told her. Suddenly, as this realization hit her, she moved forward and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, before abruptly turning away ready to run away. She was too scared to face him after this sudden, almost instinctive action. What was I thinking, Ra!!??
Touzoko-ou grinned at the news. He had expected nothing else from his best followers. When she had kissed him he was overtaken by desire for her again, but when she left he did not follow her, just feeling too lazy to do anything. If he wanted something people would have to come to see him. "Nothing.", he answered her question. "Just imagining our victory over a certain pharaoh. How glorious it will be to have his blood on my hands." Again madness began shining in his eyes as he talked about the destruction of thebes and the murder of the king. Touzoko-ou looked at Karai, an evil grin spreading on his features. "Bring me some wine.", he suddenly ordered. It was yet early to drink too much of it, but he was too well humoured to care.

Atemu's heart seemed to stop painfully in his chest as her soft lips brushed against his skin. His current breathe caught in his throat and he inhaled sharply in supprise, jerking back slightly as she moved away out of natural instincts, though later regretted it.''Wait!'' He said in supprise, putting a bejewelled hand up to the slightly red patch on his cheek where she kissed him as she turned to run. Her scent filled his head, making the world spin slightly. All he could see was her. Atemu felt drunk as everyone moved slowly from his perspective for a few moments as she turned, her cothes waving gracefully around her beautiful body with the sudden movement. He moved, like through water, lunging forward and grabbing her hand, stopping her. If she goes... I wont see her again..It pounded through his skull, and for some reason upset him.''Wait.'' He repeated, gently and suddenly pulling her backwards towards him. Their bodies collided from the momentum and before Atemu knew quite what he was doing he had leaned forward and kissed Nania straight on the mouth. He kissed her passionatly yet gently, bliss encircling his head for a few seconds untill his eyes snapped open as the voice of reason inside his head finally got through. He could'nt do this. Not now, now ever... but he didnt move, his lips still pressed against the dancers. It was too perect to leave...Karai rolled her eyes. ''I would have thought you would be kicking your bandits around.'' She commented, thethering the horse in the shade of a nearby tree. ''Whats wrong- did they finally grow a pair and fight back?'' It was non-barbed teasing, almost lighthearted with a slightly edge to the joke as she trudged across the sands and back to the camp for wine, muttering about why he couldnt just get the damn wine himself.''I have travelled over 20 miles in the scorching sun today whilst risking my life, and you lounge around in the shade and yet cant get your own damn wine. I swear you sat there just WAITING to make me do that.'' Karai said, minutes later as she dropped a wineskin into his hand and jumping up unto the rock, sitting above him so she would not have to look at him- he was bound to seduce her in one way or another if she didfor just being around him sent thrills down her spine, his maniac eyes seemed to take her soul...the raw power and devious nature.. And even though she had never found anyone else more attractive than him there was something else there than just lust. Nothing anything sentimental, but she felt that they both knew this was the closest he had ever been to anybody, and maybe it was the same for her.The complaining was lighthearted as she sat above him, staring out over the desert as a thought stuck her of her slightly perverted or blunt nature as she saw him look upwards at one stage and grin. ''Oi'' She said slowly, leaning forward to look down at him, tucking the hem of her robe in around her knees. ''No looking.''

Touzok-ou did not bother replying to her first few comments and casually caught the wineskin to drink its contents. The liquid refreshing him and giving him the nice pleasant feeling wine gives to most people. He chuckled when Karai told him not to look. "Dont spoil the fun.", he told her lightly and drank some more wine. "But its not that tempting anyways.", he added as a mean of provocation. He loved playing around with her like that, their games always ending in the same passionate way they always did. And still he could never get enough of it. Seeing her angry, making her argue with him about anything and then seduce her was a game he would never get tired of. For him Karai was like noone else. "You know, how would you like to wear the crown of Egypt? Seeing that the Pharaoh-brat still isnt married means that the crown of the Queen must silll be hidden in the temples waiting for its owner.", he then suddenly asked.
Naina had only wanted to get away, ignoring Atemu's voice which told her to stay. But when he suddenly caught her and kissed her it was all over for her. The feeling which had been sparkled inside her turned into a fire. Almost against her will she kissed him back, lost in that new sensation his touch was giving her. She knew she had to stop this. It was forbidden and it was impossible and yet it was also irresistible. When they broke apart for air she started into his eyes. "Your majesty...", she whispered, her breath coming fast. Slowly she put her hands around his neck and moved her face closer to his once again, brushing her lips against his for just a second. They should not be doing this in the middle of the street where they could be caught any second. She knew that. But if I leave now I will never see him again!, her mind screamed, the fire of passion still being stronger than her common sense at this moment.

Karai glared a little at his snide remark, feeling a little miffed. ''Oh thats funny, you never say that when your trying to get it.'' She retorted innocently, putting her knees up and leaning back to lie on the rock, basking in the fading heat. Oh, I'll get you back for that.... She vowed, trying to think up of something that would piss him off.At his suggestion, so blase and casual, Karai's eyes snapped open and she stared up into the darkening sky for a few moments to reassure herself that she was awake. ''The crown?'' She asked in a half-hesitant, half-hungry voice as she got up quickly from her lying position on the rock and jumping over his head, landing infront of him.Her mind exploding with images of wealth and above all, the crown. Its not only a great prize, but it would be near impossible to procure.... She felt a tiny smile on the corners of her mouth. ''Very much so, actually.'' At times like this Touzoku-ou was near irresitable to her. ''But whats the catch?''Atemu wrapped his arms around Nania's tighter, pulling her in to his body and he kissed her and when she pulled away his breather came fast and shallow, his lips felt numb, as if he had just touched something so wanted, so forbidden that he needed it every second he could'nt have it. Wait- what am I thinking?? He admonished himself, still staring at this girl as he let go of her. I have only met this girl yesterday- this is stupid, impulsive and dangerous- she could be anyone! But at the same time the fact that it was so implusive made a shiver go down his spine. I shall never learn if I dont make mistakes. He told himself.''I'm sorry.'' He said immeadiatly. ''I dont know what came over me. I should'nt be here'' And with that he grabbed her hand and ran, pulling her along as he duck and dived between market places, buildings and crowds of people, ducking and weaving through them all as he whooped with laughter, finally sheding the heavy shackles of duty and uniform and feeling the joy of a normal teenager. His heart had never felt so light and free just for those few moments he was running through the city, his heart pounding, his breath catching in his throat, her hand in his.... when he eventually slowed the city was gone and the two were by the banks of the almight Nile river, where an aligator dozed lazily upstream, regarding the humans with little interest before swimming off.''I'm sorry- I dont know what came over me.'' He apoligised, smiling a little sheepishly as he let go of her hand and looked around him, the realisation of what he had just done sinking in slowly. He laughed at the stupidity of it all, breathing in the clean air as he looked around again. ''But I could'nt be seen.''

Naina had just followed the King, curious about what he would do and enjoying every second of his presence. When they were standing close to the nile, far away from anything and anybody she felt her heart beat even faster so that she would be sure that it would explode inside her chest. How could a man she had just met the day before cause her to feel like that. When he started laughung she could not help but laugh with him before sitting down in the sand and then eventually lying down to watch the sky. "Its a beautiful spot, my King. So far from all people one can feel really free, dont you think?", he asked, turning her eyes towards him.
The king of thieves laughed out loud. "The catch? What do you think is the catch?', he eventually asked back. He hadnt actually thought of it at that point. Getting the crown in the first place was adventure enough for him. And it would provoke the King of Egypt, which was even more important than the artifact itself. The crown was supposed to be a magical artifact with the power to protect the Queen, but what mattered to Touzoko-ou was the price he could get for it or the chaos the disappearing of it would cause. He laughed quitely to himself as he imagined the scene. "And once we have this detail out of the way we can start casting our eyes on more interesting objects.", he announced. "Like the Millenium Items. Wouldnt you love to hold the staff or wear the necklace?", he asked Karai. He knew she would never object to a plan of his when she saw how much she could get out of it.

Atemu sat down next to her, feeling for all the world like a foolish little boy talking to a freind- or somethig like that. Atemu did'nt really know what life was like outside the palace, it was all so new and fresh and unspoiled to his eyes. Even all the different feeling were new and uncertain. But this... this was nice... he leaned back on his arms and looked heavenward to whatever was in the sky as dusk slowly crept in on them, and a tiny green frog lazily hopped past the two, croaking gently before dissapearing into the water with a splash. The pharoah had to smile and the quiet beauty of it all. ''Indeed it is.'' Atemu agreed with her, pulling out his hand and catching the next frog as it lazed past, holding it up on the palm of his hand and looking at it for a minutes before setting it free again. ''It's beautiful, he looked over at Nania and caught her looking at him. His lips twitched into a shy smile before he looked away again. ''It is like one can be closer to the gods, here.''Karai's grin widened at Touzoku-ou talked, drinking in his words as in her mind she invisioned herself holding her faveoirte of all the items- the millenium rod as the crown of the queen of egypt sat upon her head. She grinned, a delicious feeling of an oncoming challenge errupting inside her. The riches were one thing, but the satisfction of getting them would be what drove her to get them.''I take my earlier accusation back- you HAVE thought this through.'' She grinned in admiration, looking down at him and she sprang back up unto her vantage point of the rock, somersaulting over his head and landing, catlike on her faveorite spot before curling up in the fading light and keeping one eye open to peer down at the top of Touzoku-ou's white head.''But out of our ground the two of us are the only ones who can summon our ka's. The palace had seven people that can and the pharoah can summon the three gods- so we're outnumbered- even thought I destroyed their disks those priests can get more in days.''

The thief king's grin grew wider as Karai explained that they were outnumbered. He seemed to enjoy the fact more than see it as a disadvantage. "But our ka's are stronger than theirs. They have been used to peace for too long. We will be able to crush them." He laughed out loud, not caring whether he would dsturb some of his other men who were lazily loafing around. "And you forget one other thing, Karai. If the priests use their ka's against us, who will protect the town that is being destroyed? Should they not protect their people?" This made him laugh again. He could not believe how foolish people could be, giving up their own safety to protect someone else. This was their enemies biggest weakness.
Naina just nodded quietly. Looking at Atemu for a while and then back at the sky. "I never thought Egypt could be so beautiful.", she then admitted. "It is different from where I come from." She closed her eyes and smiled sadly. Yes, this place was indeed different. Women still had disadvantages, but they could live alone somehow. Back in Turkey this would have been impossible. "Here I am free.", she explained, but not giving any further details as she looked at him once more.

''So seven ka's and the pharoah vast armies are protecting the city.... we still have to counter the THREE EGYPTIAN GODS.'' Karai objected, rolling over and poking her head over the egde of the rock, looking at him up-side down so they wer eye-to eye.''Even Diabound could'nt withstand an assault from all three gods, never mind The Bird of Divinity.'' She finished, reffering to first his ka and then hers- otherwise know as Simorgh. ''Look, I hate to ruin this party for you but we may have strong ka's but there's no point going that far and then getting gunned down by the blue man, the dragon and the yellow chicken.''She never had much respect for the egyptian gods- seeing as they were the allpowerful and mighty protectors of the people.... yeah, because they really helped me when I needed it. She thought bitterly. The blood was rushing to her head quite quickly and staring into Touzoku-ou's eyes were not helping the situation any, so Karai withdrew back up unto the rock, ready to point out any more fault with needed, althought half-hating herself for ruining so-called perfection of the plan.''Yes, Egypt is a beautiful country... not that I see much of it anyways.'' The pharoah smiled ruefully, wondering what it would be like to leave the palace more often. Now that there was no-one around he shrugged off his cloak and left it lying beside him.''Where do you come from?'' Atemu asked, pulling up a knee and leaning one elbow on it while turning his head to look at Nania in interest. He had wanted to ask before but did'nt want to sound too nosey. There was a reason a young girl had come to egypt seemingly on her own and he did'nt want to pry- maybe it was for a reason that was hurtful to remember. ''That is, if it is okay for you to say so.'' He admonished himself quickly, looking back out over the Nile. He knew many men did not treat women with the respect he did but it didnt stop Atemu from acting like Nania was his equal. For some reason he didnt see her as an inferiour...

Naina let out a sigh and looked at the sky for a few moments, planning where she should start and how she should put her story before she finally said: "I come from Turkey. I grew up in a quite wealthy family with six sisters and three brothers...My father was very strict and we were quite scared of him...He made us girls marry at a very young age. Somehow I managed to get out of it, but then the day came when he announced my engagement to a man I did not know. I would not and I could not go through with it....so I ran away and found myself here."
She let out another sigh after she had finished, feeling strangely relieved. It felt good sharing it with someone, but then she suddenly had to laugh to herself. "I wonder what you must think of me now, my Pharaoh. A silly girl who runs away from home, from her country because of marriage and gets into an almost dubious profession...", she could not continue. It was hurting her to see it brightly before her eyes what she was and where she was standing.
Touzoko-ou frowned slightly. He hated it when Karai pointed out mistakes in his ideas, but these criticisms had often saved his life because he had changed his plans according to them. She was right this time. They didnt stand a chance against three Gods. "We need something...something to distract the king with, so that his control over his Ka will be weakened...", he thought out loud. He was not sure whether this could work, but it was worth a thought. "Karai, any problems with that plan?", he asked, leaving the big thinking job to her. This woman's wits were more useful than he admitted. "And come down here! Its damn annoying to have you out of my sight. You never know what you could be up to!", he called to her. Fact was, that he just hated to talk to someone he could not see and hear her voice comming seemingly out of nowhere. "And if you dont come down, I shall pull you!", he said to hurry her up.

Atemu stared at Nania in supprise. ''You ran away from wealth and a good life for freedom?'' He asked slowly, his purple eyes widening as he turned back around and stared at her, supprise and admiration in his eyes. ''I never thought anybody would do that... but yet, you did...''''But why?'' He asked again, his repsect and admiration for her escalated by miles. ''Many people would stay quiet just to keep their wealth and riches....and you ran to egypt and lived in poverty to get your freedom??'' He got more animated as he talked, getting more and more passionate.''Thats not silly at all, Nania- that shows the soul of someone strong.'' He turned to her and smiled. ''I admire you greatly for it.''Karai shrugged as he asked if she had a problem with it. ''Just a few problems I can see off the top of my head...'' She muttered lazily and stretched, catlike; turning her face towards the dying sun and letting in illuminate her form in an orange glow, warming her face.''But we can deal with them later- to get hte pharoah we play on his one weakness. His loyalty. All we need to do is take a hostage or twelve. He wont attack if he knows people will die from it, and I proved yesterday. But even that is not foolproof. We need someone he loves or appreciates very much. Send some of your elite spies into the city to listen to any rumors about his majesty and follow his wherever he goes outside the palace or something like that. Anyone whom he likes- even one of the preists would do.''She rolled her eyes as Touzoku-ou called for her to come down from the rock. ''What excactly do you think I'm doing?'' She called down teasingly and not moving, if anything getting more comfortable. ''I like it up here.''

The thief smiled. She was clearly asking for him to get up and get her. For a moment he sat there and wondered whether he actually should just grab her leg and pull her down to show that he meant what he said or whether he should just leave her there, pretending not to care where she was? Both ideas seemed quite inviting, but he decided to go for the first one. So he stood up slowly, not bothering to dust off the sand and extended his hand to grab Karai's ankle, forcefully pulling her downwards and then catching her. "You mentioned my best spies. I say we are taking a trip to the capital.", he told her with a cruel smile. He trusted his men when it came to murder and destruction, but spying reqcuired a sharp mind and patience. Touzoko-ou knew his followers well enough to be able to predict that they would spend their times is taverns and brothels instead of working. "If you want a job done properly you should do it yourself. Isnt that so?", he asked.
Naina smiled at the praise. She had never looked at it from that point of view. "I did not want to spend the rest of my life bound to a man I do not love. A prison, even if it is full of riches is still a prison. And what do material values mean compared to feelings?", she said, speaking straight from her heart. Jewels, Gold, Land; all that never mattered anything to her. "I guess its called following your heart...", she said more to herself than to Atemu as she thought about it. She then sat up and looked at the Nile. "Talking about riches...I should go and find work to be able to pay my rent...." She did not want to go, but she had to. And so did he. They were probably already worried in the palace. Naina moved closer to him again and kissed the Pharaoh passionately. "Dont forget me too quickly, ok?", she asked as she moved away.

''Whau!!'' A sharp crevice in the rock dug into her leg as Karai found herself whisked off the rock and for a moment she tumbled before landing with a slightly jerk in Touzoku-ou's strong arms, feeling the sand on his coat tickle against her bare arms as the cloak she wore hung over his arm, trailing against the ground. ''Oi!'' She said a little sardonically, trying to stifle a yawn. ''I really need the skin on my legs..'' She grinned a little, not really caring about the abrasions on her knees and more interested in what was happening now. Beside the fact that a devious man was holding her up against his half-naked body- still warm from the afternoon sun- the announcment that they would be taking a small visit to the capital was both exciting and repulsive. ''I knew that would'nt take long.'' She grinned up at him like some kind of devious chesire cat, half-pleased at where they were going, half-disgusted at returning to the city that had chewed her up and spat her out like a stray dog. But she did'nt say that. He didnt have to know. ''We leave tonight, I assume?''Atemu's good mood plummetted when she said she had to leave. Her lips pressed against his one last time before she walked away, fading into the failing light like a beautiful mirage. ''I wont.'' Atemu replied as he sat back down on the bank, suddenly the feeling of europia evaporating as reality sank back in. He got up slowly and trudged back to the castle with a heavy heart, sneaking back in under his cloak and going to his room, lying down on his bed to gaze out of the window down at the city.It had been a beautiful hour or two, and for that time everything seemed so right... he had kissed her... they had ran away from prying eyes and had sat by the Nile and talked... and now it was all over. Was it a dream? He sighed and shook his head. I wish it had been- then I would'nt feel so down''But why!?!?!'' He demanded aloud in frustration, bringing his fist down upon the bed in anger. ''Why do I even care? And why wont she leave me alone!??!!'' He could'nt close his eyes without seeing her. The taste of her lip was still on his mouth. Her scent lingered on his clothes, driving him insane.''This is irrational- I met her yesterday. I am only attracted to her because she is beautiful- who knows who many other men she had seduced the same way??'' He told himself frimly, getting up and going to the balcony as he calmed dowm slighty, now wondering if she had been just an act, but something in his didnt want to beleive that for a second.

"Of course we will leave tonight. The earlier we get there, the earlier we can start gathering information. The question is how we will blend in. We will have to stay in the town for a while and we need to have a position where we can be close to the palace.", he said as he placed her down, without much care. He already had an idea formed in his mind. It included getting rid of some servants and taking over their places, but he was curious what Karai would come up with. They had no time to waste. Not that the plan couldnt be carried out any time, but the thief's excitement was urging him to complete the plan as soon as possible. He wanted to see Thebes in ashes and the Pharao dead.
Naina had to force herself with all her might to leave Atemu, but she knew that it they had to be separated sooner or later. And sooner was maybe better....He will forget me anyways, while I will have his image in my mind forever..., she thought sadly and absently ran her fingers across her lips. That certainly hadn't been how she had imagined her first kiss to be like. With a sigh she entered a tavern to ask whether they would need a dancer for the evening, but she had no luck. So she strolled from tavern to tavern until she finally found someone willing to take a look at her skills. And within moments Naina had a fixed position as a private dancer of the tavern called 'golden river'. When she returned home after hours of dancing she felt relieved that the occupation issue was solved, but her heart still felt heavy. She simply could not forget a certain King. So she decided to go and watch the palace again the next day. I am so silly. We met by accident. Such things never happen twice...
