Naina was walking down the street towards the little hut she was renting for this month. Her long black hair was blowing in the slight breeze, caressing her honey colored skin. The sun was just rising at the horizon, creating a marvelous spectacle, but Naina did not care. She was tired and exhausted after the party she had been hired for. She had danced all night to entertain the guests and all she wanted was to drop to bed. I shouldn't complain...I chose this fate after all..., she thought sadly as she looked down at the payment in her hand, which she would give to the owner of the hut. Had she not run from home she might have a far better life.
*Flashback - 8 months ago*
Naina was kneeling before her father on a pillow, while he was drinking wine. "Naina, you are a young woman now and it should be time for you to leave the house soon. I have recieved many marriage offers and your mother and I have decided to accept the one coming from a rich merchant. The marriage will take place in a month.", he announced in a rough voice. He had never shown any tenderness towards his daughters, ruling the house with a firm hand. "But father!", Naina complained, but was silenced as her father brought his fist down on the table in front of him. "My word is law and my word has been spoken! All you do is obey! You are but a woman!"
*End of Flashback*
Anger still swelled up in Naina as she remembered this moment. It had been on that night that she had escaped her home, traveling all the way down to Egypt, where many said to have found their luck. She however was not one of them. A mere dancer, hired for entertainment had nothing to look forward too. Especially since many men seemed to confuse dancers with prostitutes and Naina had learned how to fight her way out of rough situations. Not with physical strength, but with wits.
As she reached her hut she saw the owner, an elderly widow, sitting outside. She handed the woman the money and was about to head inside, when the lady suddenly said: "Dont you want to hear the news?" Seeing that she did not want to be impolite Naina nodded and sat down on the wooden bench next to the widow. "They say that the Pharaoh will visit this town soon. He will come to pay his respects to the temples here and there will be a big festival. Maybe this will be your chance to get some more money?" Naina hight doubted that the Pharaoh would engage dancers like her. He would probably arrive with his own convoy of entertainers, but she just nodded politely. The kings visit surely would be entertaining. "And rumors say that the King of Thieves is supposed to be around. So better be careful.", the old lady continued. Again Naina just nodded. The old lady continued for some time before letting Naina finally go to sleep. Her past months in Egypt had looked like that and she prayed that her life would change soon.

The sun was rising over the Thebes as the young woman awoke in the hideout of her fellow bandits deep in the ruined village of Kal-elna. Karai lazily settled back, yawning and pushing her short black hair out of her face and staring up at the ceiling, feeling the hot skin of her lover's back against her side rise and fall as he slept soundly. It had been an odd five months, but earning respect amoung the bandits was not an easy job, especially for a woman forgeiner. She lay back and closed her eyes. ''Chovinist creeps.'' She muttered, sitting up in bed as from outside in the new conglomeration of bandit-inhabited houses came the sounds of laughing, splashing water and barking dogs. Karai stopped and looked back at the theif known as Touzoku-ou who lay beside her, looking no less devious in his sleep that in his waking hours. She dressed in the white linen she had grown so fond of and headed out of the building, the hot egyptian sun beating down upon her features-so forgein in the desert. Her black hair was shorter that most women and more full- only to her shoulder and jagged as though cut with a blade and her dress only fell to the knee. Her skin had gotten a little darker too as the weather in her home country Turkey was alot milder than in the Thebes. All theese differences had caused for some discrimination from the public but after the first few months before Karai had became a theif she had learned to ignore it. Now as she walked through the bandit camp as one of their own, calls and greeting came from some of the men, recognising the only women in their midst, beside the occaisional prostitute. Karai waved back in a blase manner and ignoring the comments, her bare feet softly passing over the hot sands untill she reached a small oasis a few metre's from the camp. I cant expect them to accept me immeadiatly, even though Im as good as the best of them. She thought a bit bitterly as she stripped and eased herself into the cool water. It annoyed her how she was treated sometimes like the bosess'forgeign whore instead of a genuine theif, even though she had proved her worth many times to them. It angered her. I'll show them.. The turkish girl sank into the water and closing her eyes, realxing... so far away from home, and yet this was somehow where she belonged.. 8 months ago; ''Karai! You will obey my commands!'' She was 16, standing in her small home in the midlands of the Turkish empire as her parents and elder siblings surrounded her threateningly, their proud faces glaring down upon her with a greedy glint in their eyes. ''No I wont!!! I am not becoming a prostitue! How could you even consider that!!! So what if we're poor?!!'' She had shouted, clenching her fists and standing defiantly, thrusting her shoulders back and leaning forward a little as she shouted, her eyes ablaze with hurt and rage as time seemed to slow for her- everything was mouch more vivid, the stifling heat.. the flies that buzzed around outside in the busy marketplace outside their home where the sounds of the street vendors floated in. ''Silence, child! You will do as we say'' Even in the memory of the few months ago where she had argued relentlessly with the parents that were trying to sell her away, Karai still remebered the sharp slap of her fathers large hand across her face as she protested about the trade they wanted to sell her into. ''You start as a worker in the morning. Any other protests and I shall see your hand cut off.'' He had sighed, as if he regretted it- and he probably did, but Karai did'nt care. The young turkish girl had retreated to her own room, her mind a haze of shock and anger as her face stung. It wasn't entrily unnormal for daughters to be sold into work like that, but her own family... her older sisters and brother... her parents....My own parents!! She sat on her bed, feeling the anger pulse through her untill she could take no more. The sun beat down hard on the dusty ground outside her small home as she stole quitly into her fathers room and slowly, softly extracting fistfuls of semiprecious stones from their earthen jar he kept them in before sneaking back into her old room that she shared with her siblings, her brown eyes cold and unforgiving as she pulled on a pair of beaten leather sandals as a linen gray cape to protect her face from the sands. No-one noticed as she left, stealing away through the market. She was a stowaway on a journey with some traders to egypt before her family realised she was gone. And now she could never return to her country..... Her new life in egypt had started out like nothing she had expected- she was discriminated and put down because of her gender and nationalty, driven to desperation and craving revenge she turned to theivery..........and then she had met Bakura, otherwise known as Touzoku-ou... Five months ago: The sun was setting over the Thebes as the young woman sat in an old abandoned house on the suberbs of the city, surrounded by the property and valubales she had stolen over the past few months to make a living. But of course, there was something oddly pleasing about taking something that belonged to someone else and selling it to the right people, especially if it was hard to come by. Karai's eye's snapped open and she stood, the luxurious white linen dress and gold jewellery she had procurred on her expeditions looking slightly out-of-place amoungst the native plebians clothing. ''They can think what they like- I'm the one getting rich.'' She sighed in satisfaction at the though of her spoils, rising from her sitting positon as the evening shadows fell upon her pretty face and almond-shaped eyes. ''Time for work.'' The turkish girl announced to herself as she oulled on a stolen purple robe of some kind and headed out as the night fell, sticking to the alleyways untill she reached one of the main temples. Light as a cat, bare feet dropped silently unto the cold stone of the temple's floor as the rest of the young turkish girl's body followed, quickly hiding behind a huge pillar as a gaurd strolled past, carrying his spear loosely in one hand and sauntering along, for he expected no trouble in a temple. Only twenty gaurds.... this is too easy. Karai's red lips were peeled back into a devious grin as now, 5 months after the event of her leaving her family, she hid in an egyptian temple, breathing in the sweet smell of inscene from the three shrines' ahead as softly the girl stayed in the shadows, edging towards the shrine on which was placed her target. An artifact that has been passed down from royal personage to royal personage. Karai supposed that if she was a native the artifact may have held some significance to her, but the meer fact that stealing this item would mean a huge disgrace upon the preists and royal family made her want it all the more. One of the servants gaurding the artifactstarted as he heard a noise from behind the pillar and went to investigate while his colleage stayed watch. A few seconds later the servant emerged with a dagger pressed up against his throat, followed immeadiatly by a theif. ''Get on the ground.'' She ordered the other servants, who immeadiatly all dropped to the floor as she passed them before knocking the first man out with a quick blow to the back of the head. The others tried to run and soon followed suit. Karai wiped a trickle of blood away from the corner of her mouth where a gaurd had landed and lucky shot and turned to the glowing artifact, grabbing the last remaining servant and shoving him at the artifact. ''Get it for me.'' She ordered and the man complied, grabbing the precious item in shaky hands and handing it over. Satisfied that there was no curse on if, Karai snatched it away and held the knife to the man's throat from behind him. ''Tell the pharaoh..'' She whispered into the mans ear. ''That the next time he should make it a little harder. The gods didnt protect him this time, did they.'' She shoved him away, knocking his head against a pillar made of alabaster and rendering the servant unconcious. Once again, the feeling of satisfaction was setting in her stomach. On her way out she used the front gates, using a stolen (duel disk) to summon up her ka to deal with the gaurds outside. Her eyes glowed a bright green for a moment as the gold disk on her right arm turned a bright yellow colour before a huge bird-like monster appeared in the skies over the temple, its huge talons and green wings destroying the unprepared and defencless soldiers in an instant with a sneak-attack. The theif left the temple quickly, knowing that her ka would have caused way too more commontion not to be noticed. She ran for the shadows, the artifact snug in a pouched around her waist, the wide sleeves of her robe falling over the disk as her ka was summoned back to her.''That was supprisingly easy.'' She remarked, hurrying back through the quiet streets, avoiding anyone that was still outside- but of course very few were for fear of the theif king- the famed ruler of the bandits. He owned this town after dark with fear. Eventually she reached her hideout and stowed the artifact away, enjoying her victory untill a voice interrupted her. ''Most impressive.'' Karai's head jerked up in supprise and she jumped to her feet, scraping her knees slightly as she did so and pointing the disk threateningly towards the voice.''Wha!'' A man was sitting in the window hole, completly at ease as he took a bite out of a peice of garlic he held in his dark hands. His clothes would have given him away for a commoner- an ordinary blue cloth around his waist, but the lavish shoes and red robe he wore over convinced her of something else... he was a theif also. No-one else would barge into someone elses house so suave and relaxed. 'Who the hell are you?!'' Karai demanded curiously as the disk began to glow once more. The man laughed and tossed the rest of the garlic away. ''Are you sure you want to do that?'' He smirked, holding up his right arms and letting the sleever fall down, revealing a disk also. Karai narrowed her eyes as she took his appearance in- the gods knew he seemed to be enjoying doing the same to her. A jagged scar ran down the left side of his face, as his shortish hair was almost a grey in colour, yet he was quite young. ''Go away.'' She told him, not lowering her arm. Ka or not, he was still in her space. ''Most impressive.'' The theif said, smirking as he jumped off the windowsill and sauntered towards her. ''I was watching your performance this evening, very amusing.'' She was about to deny, but something clicked in Karai's mind. ''You made it easier for me!'' The theif nodded. ''Oh yes, even a theif king can get a little lazy at times...'' Her brown eye's widened as she stared at the handsome theif again, realising who he calimed to be Touzoku-ou..... the ledgendary theif king.... ''I did'nt need your help.'' She replied a little haughtily before he stepped up close to her untill they were eye-to eye, backing her up against the wall, Karai went for a knife untill his strong hands grabbed her wrists, stopping her. ''You interest me.....'' Karai smiled at the memory and how far she had gotten from then, floating around the pool gently, her eyes closed against the hot sun as she relaxed, her senses on the alert of danger all the time. Her knife was by her clothes of the bank and the disk was still firmly on her tanned arm. But she wanted no trouble now, just to relax in the cold water, dreaming away...

Touzoku-ou awoke slowly and looked around. Something was different. Oh yeah...she is missing..., he noticed as he got up and grabbed a garlic from his bag. On his way through to the river he kicked some of the other thieves in his way. He didnt really care that they were working together.
He looked at the horizon and a cruel grin appeared on his face. He had heard about the Pharaoh's visit to a nearby town and he was preparing for a little game. He would not only steal some nice artifacts and cause some damage, but he also intended to make a fool out of the King of Egypt. His body tingles in excitement as he thought about the event. He walked down to the pool, already having a feeling that his newest member would be there. She had been an interesting one; a female, and yet unlike any other woman he knew. She would surely make an interesting toy.
He saw her relaxing in the water and just stared. Not bothered being caught or anything. She was just a woman after all. "Are you ready for the big fun soon?", he asked out of nowhere, eating some of his garlic. He knew that she would not like his presence there, but that was just excited him. He loved seing her angry.
Naina was just about to go to sleep, when a few of her fellow dancers rushed into the room, all looking extremely agitated. "They are coming!", they shouted full of excitement. "Who?", Naina asked lazily as she stretched her body on her simple bed. "The Pharaoh's court! They are about to set up today!!" This made Naina jump to her feet. She could not miss this event! Quickly she put on another dress which left her whole stomach and her slender arms visible and followed the girls outside. They rushed to the main street where they were sure the convoy would pass. The girls placed themselves next to a small group of drummers and soon began dancing to their beat. Most of them to attract some attention of course and Naina could not deny that she was one of them. Getting attention was what made her get the money she needed to survive after all.

''Go away.'' Karai orderd without turning around, not really caring that he saw her naked. It's not like he was going to leave just like that. She dipped lower in the water instinctivly and wrapped her arms around herself to presereve SOME dignity. After a few seconds of him sitting there and grinning, not moving an inch Karai sighed and rolled her eyes. She still disliked the way he treated her like just a woman but was adamant that would change after time.''And please stop treating me like I'm some kind of stripper. I'm not your prostitute, my dear theif.'' Raising her arm out of the water, her wet skin shining in the morning sun she called up her ka for the first time in a while as the large bird of prey alighted before her, hovering centimetres above the surface of the water and blocking Touzoku's view.''What KIND of fun??'' She asked eventually in a curious tone from behind the ka.''Does it involve violence and/or our glorious monarch?'' The last bit was said in a slightly sarcastic tone as she smirked a tiny bit. She did'nt care if he saw her or not, but his blatant disregard got on her nerves at times, and she knew that resisting him was bound to irritate Touzoku-ou in return. It made her feel good to be the only one who was'nt in some waykissing up to the theif king and taking his crap. Okay, so I am sleeping with him, but its not the same. I'll punch back. She thought to herself, rolling her eyes as she shook her head violently, bright drops of water spraying from her hair and splashing the bank with tiny flecks of water. The pharoah of egypt was hot, tired and extremly thirsty. Riding of horseback for hours in the hot egyptian sun was not pleaseant for anyone, not even the one chosen by the gods. But eventually a town approached as one of his preists, a young man by the name of Mahaado that rode beside him informed the pharaoh of their next stop for water and the like.''Very well, Mahaado.'' Atemu nodded wearily as the horses were pulled to a stop. People converged out of every doorway and alley in the town, bowing with their faces to the dust at their king and eagerly offering up gifts of water and fruit to refresh the travellers. The water quenched his thirst and each gift was thanked for profusly before the preists and gaurds made to head off once more untill the young pharoah stopped them. ''Not yet, Mahaado.'' He ordered lightly. ''My back aches from the horses. Lets stay a while longer and look around.'' The preists, although reluctant, agreed.Wondering around the streets, he at last came upon the main road where sweet music piped from drums and accoustic intruments were playing as a group of beautiful girls danced to the music in lavish-if not somewhat revealing- clothes. He stopped, halting the gaurding he had brought with him as the crowd of villagers that had followed as he watched the girls. Expecially one girl caught his eye- she was dancing like the rest of them, but something about her made him sone in on her more than the others. Maybe it was her beauty, maybe it was the way her body flowed and moved so gracefully and easily with the music, or maybe it was the way the clothes she wore made him stop and look twice. He didn't quite know, but he did know that he wanted to get closer without being noticed. ''Mahaado. Tell those dancers I want them to attend a ceremony for me tonight to dance in my honour.'' He ordered, saying the first thing that came into his mind, his purple eyes still fixed on the dancer.''But my pharaoh-'' The preist was going to protest but Atemu shook his head. ''Do it.'' Mahaado sighed, stepping forward and walking over to the dancers.

Touzoku-ou continued to watch her with interest, not one bit of her form escaping him. She was like another artifact to him that he had caught on one of his little tours around the country; one he valued for its beauty and services. He grinned even more when she answered his question with another one. "Such a bright thing you are! I expect you to be efficient. Bring as much as you can get, cause as much trouble as you can, but leave the little spoiled brat with the crown to me.", he said before turning. She should not start thinking that he was too fond of her. She was just another person who happened to be useful. Nothing more and nothing less. "We will leave after sunset. Make sure to be ready.", he said as he started walking off, but then he stopped and turned around. "Oh and the more you get on that little trip the nice I might happen to be."
Mahaad walked up to the group, making the girls stop dancing immediately. Only Naina danced for a few more moments, so lost in her fluid movements and the melody in her mind that she did not notice that the drums around her had ceased to play. She stopped as well and looked at Mahaad, who stood in front of them with a stern look on his face. "The Pharaoh orders you to come and perform at his festival tonight.", he said. This immediately made the girls giggle and sqeal in delight. They had achieved what they wanted. Naina moved a little away from the group to try to catch a glance at the ruler of Egypt. She had to admit that he did not look like she had imagined. He was a lot shorter than in her imagination and a lot younger too, probably only a year older than herself. But she had to admit that she found him very handsome. "I will expect you tonight.", Mahaad said and turned around to return to the king. The girls immediatly started discussing what they would be wearing and rushed home to prepare. Naina however decided to observe the convoy a little longer, overwhelmed by the riches the Pharaoh was carrying around with him. Silently and secretly she followed the group from a distance, always keeping her eyes on the ruler of the country.

''Understood. You really know how to show a lady a good time.'' Karai replied with a large-if not somewhat wry- grin. Pillaging, looting and destroying. Three of her old faveorites. She envisioned the scene and her grin grew wider. ''Of course I'll be efficiant. I'm the best theif you have and you know it.'' She snorted in indignation as she stood up from the water as he walked away, her skin drying rapidly in the hot morning sun.Quickly pulling on her clothes and jewellery once more, Karai looked up across the dazzling white plains of the desert and watched the tiny lizards scuttle across the sand. Tonight, the city will be ours.. The theif thought in satisfaction, turning on her heel and walking back into the camp a few minutes behind the man she had just been talking to.Sometimes she wondered if Touzoku-ou actually was being hard on her because he was trying to make her prove her worth, or he was just geuinly being a bastard. But then again, I enjoy him as much as vice versa. She thought to herself, not even considering love in the equation. A theif had no time for that kind of antics- she enjoyed Touzoku-ou's handsome looks. body and aspects of his personality but besides that... it was hard to know. It was good the way it was. Ish. A little respect would be nice.Wow, that just made me sound like a total whiner. She laughed to herself, knowing it wasnt excactly true as she joined a group of the bandits around a fire to eat breakfast from whatever poor animal they had butchered the evening beforehand. ''Mmm, lizard straight out of the Thebes' cesspool.'' She commented as she bit into the meat and the men around her exploded into laughter, except for the one who had caught it.Atemu explored the town a bit more, polietly ignoring the preists requests that he abandon this odd and sudden arrangement for a festival. ''My pharaoh, this is'nt like you to announce festivals- are you well?'' Isis, a preistess with him asked as they walked along when the sun had started to set and he headed for the communal festival area the villigars had prepared, adorned with flowers and sweet scents of insense and perfumes filled the evening air. The drums were playing softly as the crowds gathered to see the dancers and all bowed to their knees as the pharoah passed to a large throne-like chair they had prepared for him to watch the dancers. Oblivious to his follower all day, he watched eagerly for that girl that he had seen before. He wanted to see her again. Just watcing her dance got the adrenniline pumping through his veins, as if he were there beside her in the same fluid motions. She was mesmerising..... Isis and the others preists stood beside the throne. They had noticed the young girl following at a distance but had remained quiet. She was not doing any harm.As the sky darkened as the music softly strayed on the wind carrying it high up above into the sand-dunes, several horse-back riders appeared over the dunes, framed by the light of the moon but hidden completly from the townspeople. Karai sat atop a black horse at the head of the group, a dark cloak and hood pulled over her shoulders and head, flowing out behind her in the breeze. The rest of the bandits wore similar cloacks but hers was the only attire that could be seen- the white linen dress and the gold jewellery were still there. Fro, her feminine shape it was obvious she was the only woman there- the rest were wearing black armour-like clothes and hoods under the cloaks. Only a large rapier with a jagged edge and two knives were sheathed at a leather belt by her side. ''We wait til the dancers are halfway through their routine, and then we strike.'' She ordered in low tones across the dunes, feeling excited by the thought of the mission, adrenniline running through her body.It was one of the few that Touzoku-ou had given her to run. Probably because I have a strong ka and a disk She had thought, leaning low over the back of her horse so her face was rest on his neck for a few minutes and grinning. But now, she did'nt know whether it was that, or a test. None of the bandits did. In any case, she was going to ace this one.''Get ready, pharoah.'' She whispered, her smirk widening. This night was going to be unforgettable. Still, the men knew what was tabboo and what was allowed, but anything like sexual harassment was off the menu. As their leader said; we are not that petty. If you cant get a woman then you're no man at all.''So pure destruction only- remember that. Rough 'em up, cause a fuzz, start a few fires... you know the like. Enjoy, boys.''

Touzoku-ou looked down at the city from his position on the dunes. He would let his men start the work, enjoying the sight of chaos a little before joining in for a nice face off with the Pharaoh. It was this encounter that he was looking forward to most. He would show the egyptains one and for all who was the strongest man in the country. He felt more and more agitated, eager to use the daggers he was holding. "This will be one great festival. Enjoy it as much as you can, because the best part is yet to come.", he said with an almost mad grin on his face before he too started heading towards the town which continued its festivities without even considering upcoming danger.
Naina noticed a bit too late that her perfomance was supposed to begin so that she did not dare just jump in and join the other girls. She just stood amongst the crowd and watched the others for a moment, her eyes sometimes wandering to the monarch on the throne. It seemed as if he was looking for something or someone. Suddenly one of the other girls, Taya, the only one she could call a true friend pulled her by the arm straight into the middle of the group of dancers. "Show them your dance! We all know that you are the best dancer around here!", Taya whispered. Naina just nodded and started dancing. It was natural to her. It was like a release to her body and spirit. In a men's world she was a prisoner, in the world of dance she was water, air, freedom itself. And so she danced and danced, swaying her hips to the rythm, swirrling and turning as if there was no tomorrow. The world around her seemed to disappear. There was just her and the music. The danger which was drawing closer any second did not exist.

''....now!'' Karai gave the signal, kicking her heels into the sides of her horse and crouching down low on its back as it leaped forward, galloping down the dunes with a thundering of hooves as the other bandits followed behind her in formation, silently at first, but as they got closer drew their weapons and started to wreak destruction as they hit the village. Karai pressed on through the streets on horseback as the others split off into different streets to do the same. She kept going, closer and closer to the town centre. She would give the signal, and all hell would break loose.Atemu watched Nania, still not knowing her name but wanting to watch her forever, her swaying body was hypnotising, making him never want to look anywhere else. The crowd was mesmerised, but no-one as much as he was by the young dancing girl. The others seemed to fade out of existance, and it was only that Mahaado starting looking troubled and conversing with the other preists in low tones that he tore his eyes away reluctantly. ''What is it.''''The items are acting strangly, my king.'' Isis explained as Mahaado kept glancing at his ring untill it burst out into a glow of orange light. ''Danger!'' Mahaado cried, stepping in front of his pharaoh but the villagers screamed at something a little more immentint. Taya stood on the half-deserted dancefloor as most of the dancers fled screaming a a young woman appeared there almost out of thin air on horseback, jumping off the black stallion and grabbed the dancers hair, pulling her head back and pushing a knife up against the terrified girls throat.''Excuse me for interrupting, pharoah.'' She said loudly so that her mocking voice carried clearly around the square as she shoved Taya forward and keeping the knife at the girls throat. ''There's been a slight change.'' She raised her right arm and her ka appeared above the crowd breifly, making the crowd shreik and cower as the preist's shouted at her and pulled out their own disks. ''No, give them to me or the girl dies- that means you two, pharoah.'' Karai ordered and one by one the disks were at her feet as she smirked. Her ka was the signal..... around every corners of the city at the same time loud explosions caused the ground to shake and screams of terrified people filled the air. The villagers ran and which way and the bandits appeared to engauge with the now mostly-denfesless preists.Atemu was locked in a battle untill Mahaado took over and Isis dragged him away. ''Let me help! I need to help! that girl!'' THe pharoah ordered firmly, looking at the helpless Taya and thinking if the other girl was okay. Karai smirked.

The king of thiefs had situated himself on the roof of the tallest building from which he could observe the scene for some time. "Oh, very nice Karai. Very clever.", he observed as his eyes focused on her. Seeing the prisoner shake in fear made him even prouder of his underling. Then his eyes shifted to the King, his real target for that night. All he had to do was wait for him to get away from his priests.
Naina had moved away with the crowd as the bandids stormed the festival, throwing over things and setting houses on fire. The girl was determined to get away, change town and try to forget about this, but she could not leave her only friend in danger. Trying not to be seen she sneaked up behind Karai. She wanted to attack her, but then she hesitated, her eyes fixed on the woman's ka. There was no way she would get out of this alive if she attacked directly. But maybe if I distract her?, she thought as she picked up a small rock and threw it and the thief. Also, she was sure that she had seen this woman somewhere and that it had not been a pleasant encounter. In this situation however she had no time to think about it.
"My King, you have to get out of here. It is not for you to fight in a battle like this.", Isis spoke, daring to disagree with the Pharaoh. A horse was brought for Atemu and Isis tried to convince him to leave immediately to get out of danger.
Touzoku-ou observed this with huge interest. "What will you do? Pretend to be brave or show your true self of a coward?", he asked as if the Pharaoh could hear him. The thief was sure to get him either way. If he ran he would attack him and the same would happen if the King engaged in a battle with Karai. The grip around his daggeres tightened as he felt his blood boil with excitement.

The rock struck Karai on the left shoulder, throwing the theif forward and wrenching her shoulder slightly as she stumbled and tried to regain her balance. ''Aaaggh!'' Pain throbbed dully in the limb she turned with anger and a little admirment blazing in her brown eyes as she faced Nania, dragging her hostage around with her.
''You're a brave little girl!!!'' She snarled in supprise through gritted teeth as all around her buildings tumbled to the ground with huge cracks and resounding booms- the thin wooden or clay structures crumbling under the heat. ''But obviously a very stupd one.'' She clicked the fingers of her right hand twice and two bandits appeared from the fray by her side and advanced towards Nania.
Karai shoved Taya roughly at the other girl and the dancer fell to one side, gasping and clutching her throat as she was released. Karai stared through the haze of smoke and chaos towards Nania for a few seconds and felt a twonge of deja vu. As if she had seen that girl before and had'nt liked her very much.
''I have no need of you any more. Kill them.'' She ordered briskly, turning on her heel and striding off, feeling the heat of the fires on her skin and the shouts and crumbling of houses filling her with a blazing passion for her work.
The disks the preists had surrendered were taken and thrown into one of the blazing houses as slowly the bandits began to lead the presits away from their pharoah. stepping further and further away.... The three theives advanced on Taya and Nania, drawing their swords and lunging at the two, ready to slice them in half- the swords swung down through the air and just at the last second there was a sudden movement and a clatter of steel on steel as Atemu appeared seemingly out of nowhere, blocking the attack. His heart was pounding like he had just ran a marathon. He didn't know what came over him- but as he was about to get on the horse, he saw the bandits advance on her... that girl...... he could not let her die.
The theives looked at first supprised but then delighted.''He's away from the preists''Their leader would love this. Atemu's head was filled with Isis' cries as she called him to come back, wondering what had posessed him to run away like that. He braced his sword and pushed back agaisnt the weight of the three blades weighing on his, feeling the burning pain in his shoulders from the strain. ''GO!'' He ordered Nania and her freind. ''Run! I'll handle this!!!'' ''No, my king!'' Mahaado and Isis saw the predicament of their pharoah and ran to help but in a flash of light a huge green bird-like creature rose before them, blocking their way as Karai stepped out from the shadows. ''I'm afraid I cant allow that.'' She smirked a little as the two drew their wepons desperate to reach their pharoah before anything went wrong, but the other preists were engauged by the bandits too.
''We HAVE to reach him!'' Isis cried, as Mahaado stepped forward, pushing Isis behind him for protection. ''How dare you try and harm our pharoah! You shall hang for this!'' Mahaado yelled as the battle between the tomb robber and the preist's wepons commenced. With a flurry of light and weapons Karai drew her rapier and attacked at the same time as her ka swooped up over the city, wreaking eve more havoc from the skies.
I cant hold this up forever- Touzoku-ou had better hurry up. Karai looked over her shoulder at one point, looking for the lone figure of the theif king to come and finish the job. She took a hit in the ribs and cried out at the metal blade sliced across her stomach, drawing a line of bloody and slicing through her clothes, filling her mind with even more adrenniline and determination. The tomb robber loved this so much she would have done this every night had the need for it been there. She grinned girmly, feeling the adrenniline pump trough her veinsand counter-attacked viscously, causing harm to the preist's upper left arm. He may have been stronger, but she was faster and filled with rage. Danger- THIS is what she lived for.

Naina stared in surprise at her sudden saviour. She had expected to get in trouble, but never to be saved by the Pharaoh.
"Y-your majesty...", she uttered before he ordered them to leave. Supporting her friend Taya with one arm she led the girl, who still seemed to be completely in shock, away from the scene. But once she left her with a group she regarded as safe she returned to the scene of battle.
The Pharaoh had saved her and she would not simply run away and leave him there. But what should I do? I do not know how to fight...., she thought desperately as she watched her saviour's power slowly fading, his priests unable to get to him because of Karai.
Mahaad, holding his wounded arm, glared at Karai. He had not expected her to be so swift and strong. He was wondering whether he would have to use his special powers. Isis too seemed rather overwhelmed by the attack, surprised by the fact that her necklace had failed to warn her in time. "We need to get to the King.", Mahaad said firmly as he was once more ready to attack.
"Enough now!", a voice suddenly ordered, making all the bandids stop for a moment and lower their weapons slightly. And then, as if out of nowhere, Touzoko-ou appeared out from the smoke of the burning houses. He held his two daggers firmly in his hands and on his face was a smile which showed pure evil and endless excitement. The bandits made room for him as he made his way through to the king of Egypt. "Playing the hero, aren't we? Rushing in to safe a pair of worthless females, nothing more than whores selling their dancing and some other arts to the highest bidder. Royalty these days has really sunk low.", he observed, his words making his fellowers laugh. "But now, lets get to business, shall we?", the thief's voice was bittersweet, but his eyes reflected how dangerous he was. And then without a warning he rushed forward, ready to kill Atemu.
Naina's eyes widened in shock. She did not want to see this and yet she was unable to turn away. "Watch out my King!", she shouted the moment Touzoko-ou jumped forward.

Atemu had but a split second to react as the girl's voice pierced into the numb fear inside his brain. "Watch out my King!" The situation was desperate. The king of theives! I cant run now or he'll kill every one of my people in the village! The king thought quickly as he did the only thing possible- he lunged forward as the two men collided, with one flisk of his tanned arms the armlets of gold her wore slid down around his wrists and served as a gaurd. The pharaoh brought his arms upon the insides of Touzoku-ou's dagger-weilding hands and pushed outward, using the theives own momenum to shove the knives outwards and away from himself. The screams and gasps of the servants and remaining gaurds and preists was collective. ''My pharoah!"The gaurds tried to rush forward to itercept the struggle but were stopped by the bandits forming a line between the battle and the gaurds.''I will not let you harm theese people any more, theif!" Atemu snarled through gritted teeth as he struggled to keep the daggers away from himself, the blades scraping against his makeshift bracers. Touzoku-ou simply lifted a foot, placed it against the kings defencless chest and kicked, sending the pharoah backwards and unto the dusty ground. Atemu hit the ground and skidded, the dirt and stones tearing up his arms and legs, leaving long bruises and scrapes down his dark skin. He struggled to his feet, picking up a discard sword and preparing to fight if necessary. ''I beg you to rethink this!'' His voice carried around the fire-lit square as the flames began to die, silencing his followers as they stared, aghast at their king. ''Your fued is with me and me alone, leave theese people out of it!!!" He commanded, circling Touzoku-ou and ready to attack. But then something caught his attention- he saw her, that girl in the crowd who had saved his life. For one second his eyes flicked towards her and he almost felt a jolt of electricity running through his veins- she was even more beautiful close-up.Karai watched the pharaoh tried to reason as her ka circled overhead, restraining the preists and gaurds who were trying to break through the barrier of cloaked bandits. She had stood down at Touzoku-ous enterance to the scene to catch her breath, the cool night air blowing the ashes of the ruins across the dunes. But as Mahaado attacked her again she was forced back into battle with him to keep the presits from helping his pharaoh. She could have called for help but it didnt cross her preoccupied mind. Her feet skidded back a little as she tried to restrain him as he attacked again and again.... wham Her foot connected with the preists crotch in a blatant display of fighting dirty and the preist crumpled. Seconds later he was lying unconcious on the dusty ground, blood tricklnig from his nose. Karai wiped blood from her mouth and, holding her wounded stomach, turned to watch the fight, leaving the bandits to restrain the pharoahs followers.

Touzoko-ou laughed out loud, the sound filling the air around him. He had never imagined that he would enjoy himself so much with this fight. "You are so weak and pathetic!" He almost spat out the words as he glared at his enemy. "Pretending to care about your people, huh? As if!" And with that he was about to attack the Pharaoh once more, but suddenly he stopped in mid-movement, before moving away looking at the distance. After a few seconds he narrowed his eyes and growled slightly. "We will postpone this little fight for another day. But this is not over!", he told Atemu before he ordered his men to retreat.
He could see that they were not to happy with that, but there was no need to explain his actions for now. He had heard the sound of hoofs in the distance; reinforcements or the royal guard with no doubt. "Ruining all the fun...", he muttered, clearly angry at this shift of events. He glared at Karai wanting to get rid of his anger somewhere and she seemed perfect for that. "What kind of fight was that?", he asked, pointing at her wounds. "You really are nothing more than a woman, with the only difference that you are pretending to be oh so strong."
The reinforcements the king of thief had noticed arrived withing minutes. Isis had silently sent for them, hoping to surprise Touzoko-ou and his men and overwhelm them. The plan had however not worked. The priestess kneeled next to Mahaado to make sure he was going to be ok. The burning village seemed to slowly calm down, but the people were still weary to come out of their hiding places. Many of them had lost everything to either the fire or the thieves.
Naina looked around, just then realizing how bad the distruction all around her was. Life in this village would be a lot harder now, especially for a dancer nobody would be likely to hire as long as the village was in this state. She let out a sigh and shook the thought away and instead slowly approached Atemu. Bowing to him she said: "I wanted to thank you, your majesty, for having saved my life earlier on. May the Gods always smile upon you." She wanted to look up and see him from close, but she did not dare to at the same time.

''Dont blame me because your little tiff was interrupted.'' Karai shot back immeadiatly, her temper flaring a little. I cant beleive it! He's taking his anger out on ME. Time for a quick comeback. She thought, enraged. ''Remember that I chose opponents who are actually able to fight back.'' ''Dont lash out at me because I did better than you.'' That was an obvious jibe towards his senslessly whacking the pharoah around like a toy puppet while as she had to fight to win and she knew it would irk him.Flicking the back horses reins she slowed and was soon lost amoung the ranks of the other bandits, not in the mood for taking any of the theif kings nonsense at this point. So close- the pharoah was almost gone. Dammned reinforcments! She cursed to herself as the group made in back to the ruined village of Kul-elna where the moon shone down eerily on them as they disembarked, sullen from their defeat and ready for a drink. It would probably be wise to stay out of Touzoku-ou's way for a bit untill he calmed down, but that 'just a woman' comment bit deep into her pride. That rock-throwing girl... where have I seen here before? Karai mused as she headed to the one of the two Oasis' that lay near Kul-elna to wash away the blood and sand. She knew that this was the spring that Touzoku-ou usually went to but at that moment was filled with apathy. It was the closest, it would do.Atemu was soon surrounded by reinforcements but waved them away. ''Help the people of this town.'' He ordered the soldiers and preists as they dispersed to fulfill his orders. ''They need the help more than I.''He stood, breathing in deeply and trying not to gag on the thick smoke that was issuing from the smouldering ruins. He was out of breath and almost exhausted. It was only then he noticed the girl approaching him. Slowly, his heart started thudding in his throat with every step she took towards him. She really is gorgeous- why would one that beautiful be in the profession of dancing? She looks foreign too...''There is no need to thank me, for you saved my life from the theif king.'' He replied gratefully, bowing down to HER on one knee for a few seconds before straightening back up and ofering her a hand to get up, abandoning all traditions. As his servants and preists gawped at the two. ''It is I who owes you the thanks. And tell me, what is your name?''He had to know- she had mesmerised him with her dancing, and his mind was almost buzzing with curiousity.

Touzoko-ou's anger was flared even more by Karai's arguments. "You should know better than to provoke me, woman.", he retorted. "It might not end well for you, since you overestimate your capacities." Not that he actually would kill her, but he felt that she was one of his few fellowes that constantly needed to be reminded where they stood in the hierarchy. On the other hand this particular behaviour made Karai attractive to him in a way other women weren't. "Did you at least steal some things?", he asked to change the subject. If she hadn't he would have one more pretext to criticise her and if she had he could just drop the topic. All the excitement he had had before the attack had vanished, leaving him frustrated. His men avoided him when they saw the anger blazing in his eyes, wondering how the woman of the group could be corageous enough to put up with their leader now that he was in such an unpredictable state of mind. "We will get them the next time!", the king of thief announced loudly. "And next time we will make sure that nothing will get in our way."
They approached their current hiding place and let the horses rest, while the men showed off their bounty, bragging about what they had contributed to the destruction of the village, while Touzoko-ou sat down apart from the group, looking at the dying flames of the village at the horizon, muttering silent curses.
Naina was more than surprised at the King's behaviour. Wasn't he supposed to be the almighty ruler of Lower and Upper Egypt? Then why was he being so kind to someone like her? "My name is Naina, your majesty.", she answered his question and finally to dared to look at him. His purple eyes immediately captured her and it seemed as if she would never be able to look away. But finally she managed to avert her gaze to look down, finding herself lost for words. Usually in such a situation she would have asked for the other person's name, but seeing that this other person was the Pharaoh this was out of question. "I should leave now...", she started, but noticed that her body was not going to obey her. So she just stood there, too shy to look at him again. What is he doing to me? What kind of spell is drawing me to him?, she wondered.
